Three dogs and their handlers graduated from Assistance Dogs of Hawaii’s training camp Thursday.

Two-year-old Labrador Retriever Ella will work full-time at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, providing therapeutic benefits for cancer patients.

Two-year-old black Labrador Retriever Clover will provide comfort and courage to children who are victims or witnesses of crime.

“What we know actually from research is that you can lower your blood pressure and lower anxiety levels by having a dog present and petting a dog. We took those kinds of research and put it into practice with our victims and witnesses who often are in very stressful situations,” Dennis Dunn, Honolulu Dept. of Prosecuting Attorney said.

One-and-a-half year old Golden-Labrador Retriever Harper will be a service dog for 11-year-old Jordan Brub, who has a spinal cord injury.
